I had stayed away from running after getting injured while training for my first full marathon four years ago… until last year. I originally began my personal training sessions with Patrick with the goal in mind of “losing a few pounds.” Over time I became stronger, my endurance increased, and the desire to participate in races returned and so I asked to change the focus of our training sessions. Over the course of a year, I successfully crossed the finish line of one 15K, one half marathon, three full marathons, and even a half ironman! Prior to my personal training sessions, I would have never imagined myself running 26.2 miles and feel like I could keep going. It took a lot of dedication and hard work on my part but that alone would not have been enough. Patrick’s guidance, tips, and challenging work outs enabled me to conquer the SF hills during the San Francisco Marathon, take on the thousands of steps while running the Great Wall Marathon in China. I even got a second chance at the first marathon I had attempted, the Half Moon Bay Marathon and made it my best one yet. This time I crossed that finish line with a big smile on my face and, best of all, injury free. Training with Patrick not only enabled me to succeed in all of my races, the process of accomplishing my goals helped boost my confidence and realized that I can achieve anything with the right preparation and attitude. I continue to use the principles I learned from Patrick while training for events and look forward to running for.
Coach Patrick's high intensity circuit training has got me closer to the results I am looking for quicker then working out alone. Working with coach I have improved my form and changed the way I consume calories. I also appreciate that Coach Patrick uses proper terminology when explaining each workout and muscle group.
"I have been working out with Patrick since 2019. We had a great start. At the time, I had severe shoulder pain which prevented me from lifting my right arm past my back. I thought I would need a rotator cup surgery. Patrcik made me do various stretches and worked on improving mobility on that shoulder. Within a few weeks, my shoulder pain was gone and I was so relieved and delighted. Patrick and I mostly work on my strength training and conditioning. He challenges, pushes, and encourages me to get better. I have clearly seen improvement all-arounds - I am definitely squatting, lifting, bench pressing more weights and doing more repeats. Patrick has made me more aware of my form - I clearly see improvement in my form during various exercises. I have been very pleased with my progress. "For most of my life I've struggled with my weight. Due to eating incorrectly and not consistently exercising. I've been the "fat" girl and didn't like what I saw in the mirror. Add in a shoulder issue that I've dealt with for 40 years I not only wanted, but needed to, improve my strength and overall health. When I was matched with Patrick, a baseball coach, I didn't know if we would work well together. I like to talk and he's a bit more reserved. When Patrick first approached me about a fitness consultation, I was 6 months away from my wedding day with a significant weight loss goal.
